Joint Academy provides virtual physiotherapy for osteoarthritis, joint pain, and lower back pain. Our specialized treatments address osteoarthritis in the knees, hips, and hands, as well as pain in the lower back, neck, and shoulders. The program is accessible through our app, allowing you to receive treatment anytime, anywhere.
-
When you download the app, you’ll answer a few short questions about your symptoms. Based on your responses, you’ll be matched with a licensed physiotherapist or referred to another healthcare provider if needed. Your physiotherapist will review your medical history and symptoms to determine if our treatment is a good fit for you.
-
With Joint Academy, you’re connected to a dedicated physiotherapist who will guide you through your treatment. They’ll help you get started with your customized exercise program, provide regular follow-ups, and track your progress. Your therapist is available every day through the app to answer questions, adjust your exercises, and support your recovery.
-
Your program includes two simple, guided exercises each day, with video instructions provided in the app. These exercises take just 5–10 minutes to complete. After each session, you’ll check in with your physiotherapist, who can modify your exercises based on your progress, pain levels, and physical ability. Initially, the exercises are easy to help you build confidence and proper technique. Over time, they will gradually become more challenging as your strength improves and pain decreases.
-
The duration of the program varies based on your individual health needs and goals. Your progress, along with regular check-ins with your physiotherapist, will determine the length of your treatment.
-
Yes! Research has shown that guided exercise is an effective treatment for joint pain. Joint Academy’s program is designed to strengthen the muscles that support and protect your joints. As your muscles get stronger, the cartilage in your joints— which acts as a shock absorber— can also benefit from this activity, promoting mobility and reducing pain.
