Joint Academy launches treatment for chronic neck pain

August 15, 2022

Joint Academy works continuously to improve the quality of life of patients with chronic joint pain. The goal is to give more people access to evidence-based treatment and the tools to relieve their symptoms. In collaboration with medical specialists, Joint Academy has now launched a treatment program for chronic neck pain.

Stubborn neck pain is very common and can make everyday life tough. The condition can often lead to long-term problems and unplanned time away from work. Along with back pain, neck pain is one of the leading causes of impaired function worldwide.

However, there is help to be had. Studies show that supervised exercise increases physical function, reduces pain and improves the quality of life for patients with neck pain. Therefore, international guidelines recommend neck-specific training as the primary treatment.

With this new launch, patients suffering from neck pain can access digital treatment with Joint Academy. During the neck protocol, the patient receives simple physical exercises and education to learn more about their condition. Just like in our other treatment programs, the patient is paired with a personal physical therapist who follows them throughout the treatment.

The goal of Joint Academy’s digital neck treatment is to ensure accessible, clinically validated treatment for all patients with chronic neck pain regardless of where they live, to increase their quality of life and activity level, and to reduce the need for expensive health care alternatives and prolonged sick leave.

Joint Academy develops digital treatments based on current research and clinical evidence. Behind the treatment programs are an international team of researchers, physiotherapists and doctors.

Joint Academy currently offers digital treatment for joint pain of the hip, knee, hand, lower back and shoulder.
